ONE Genius Laundry Trick | Haughton Louisiana Family Photographer | Courtney Winters Photography
I set a few New Year goals and I can’t say I’ve done amazing staying on track with all of them thus far. I’m not saying I’m giving up on them, I just haven’t stuck with them the way I should. BUT today is a new day fresh with no mistakes in it, right?!
However, there has been one goal that I feel I’ve really been doing good with! That goal is keeping up with the laundry. This may seem like a silly goal, but even small goals should be rewarded, right? I came across something on Facebook that has been a huge help to me with reaching some of the goals that I have set. I wanted to de-clutter my house, stay caught up on laundry, and keep the house nice and clean.
So what is it that has helped? The Simplicity Challenge from Emily Ley! She has several different tasks for you to do each day and while I haven’t done every single one of them. I have done a few and there is one that I continue to do daily.
One of the challenges she posted was to get in the habit of doing a small load of laundry every morning. When I read this, I thought to myself “this is genius.” Why on earth have I never thought of this?! I’m always trying to find some sort of routine to help me with laundry because, you know.. Laundry seems to be the main thing that gets put off. Then we end up with a massive pile to fold and put away, which is no fun!
Thankfully, when I saw this task for the day I had just put away my massive pile of laundry the day before so I had a fresh start! I put a load in the wash and the load that was in the dryer, I put away as soon as I got it out. The next day I repeated the process, as well as every other day that week. But the end of the week, instead of having to dig for undies and socks, they were all put nicely in our drawers and there was no big pile of clothes anywhere!
I realized THIS was the key to staying on top of laundry. Do a small load every morning and be sure to fold and hang what comes out of the dryer AS SOON as you get it out! This may seem like a no brainer to some, but it has been such a huge help to me!
Do you have any tricks to help you stay on top of things?! I’d LOVE to hear them! Leave a comment below!!
