Six Things You Need To Do Before School Starts | Haughton, Louisiana Family Photograhper
With the first day of school being just around the corner, (can you even believe that?!) it’s time to start getting everything together that we will need for the big day. Between getting back in the routine of waking up early and getting everything needed, back to school can be a little overwhelming. I’ve compiled a list of 6 things you need to do before the first day of school starts to help us busy moms out!
1. Get A Routine Going
About 2 weeks before school starts, it’s a good idea to start getting that routine of waking up early going again. For some of us, waking up early comes naturally. Bur for others (myself included) waking up early takes effort.. and lots of alarms. Go on ahead and get everyone to bed early and waking them up early. This way, when the big day arrives everyone will be (mostly) used to waking up early.
2. Get All The School Supplies
This sounds like a total DUH! But really, it can be very easy to put it off for the last minute. I recommend making you have EVERYTHING a week before school starts. This will save you some anxiety to know that everything is good to go. No running around like a crazy lady getting all the last minute things! 😉
3. Make Sure They Have All The Clothing Needed
Back to school usually means a nice shopping trip. Maybe not for yourself, and maybe not all that nice seeing you have to bring all your kids with you.. Ok, back to school means dragging your children in all the stores looking for one hundred thousand new pairs of everything. Eh… That may be too dramatic. You get the point. Make sure they have enough socks, undies, uniforms (if needed), and a couple new pairs of shoes.
4. Plan The First Day Of School Picture
Of course, everyone’s go to for inspiration is Pinterest. Because it’s totally amazing, right? Right. Head on over there and grab some ideas for the first day of school photo. Make sure you have all the things for that. Run to the nearest craft store and get ALL THE THINGS! 😉
5. Have Everything Packed And Ready To Go
The night before the BIG DAY make sure the outfits are picked out, the bags are packed, lunches are ready, and all the alarms set! Also, charge your phone/camera! You’ll want to wake up a little earlier than needed to make sure you have time to grab that picture!
6. Have A Great First Day Of School!!
Have a warm breakfast and don’t forget to take the pictures!
Oh, and enjoy the peace and quite once the kids are in school! YAY!!
